Technology Has A Negative Influence On The Social Life Of...

Within our society, technology plays a critical role in our everyday lives. Its prevalence within our environment has ultimately resulted in the change of pedagogical practice. This new age of teaching has demonstrated that technology is in many ways, beneficial within the classroom environment. This paper will consider how technology can support the needs of children with special needs, making learning more relatable and effective. Furthermore, technology also has an influence upon the social and emotional wellbeing of children. Learning has become more accessible and may facilitate learning within students that traditional pedagogy may not reach. Nonetheless, despite technology bestowing certain benefits that adhere to the effectiveness†¦show more content†¦As outlined by Ciampa (2017), â€Å"technology is assistive insofar as it allows a student with disabilities to accomplish tasks that would otherwise be difficult or impossible† (p. 86). It is a tool that can emp ower and provide children the opportunity to explore an educational journey that they may not otherwise be able to. Therefore, it becomes clear that making learning more accessible and dynamic using technology is an important part of pedagogical practice, especially when supporting children with special needs. Supporting children’s social development is another advantage of using technology. Although it has always been argued that children’s development of social skills is hindered by technology since it reduces the opportunity of interacting with others (Armstrong Casement, 2000), technology does facilitate children’s social development through enhancing children’s interaction and collaboration with peers (Hsin, Li, Tsai, 2014). Children are not passive users of technology. When children are encouraged to complete game tasks on tablets or computers, they collaborate and share ideas with their peers to finish the tasks. Through collaboration and sharing with peers, children can become strong in their social and emotional wellbeing, which is the key to the sense of being, becoming, and belonging (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations [DEEWR], 2009). Children can gradually become confidentShow MoreRelatedDoes Social Networking Have A Positi ve And Or Negative Affect On Individuals?942 Words   |  4 PagesDoes Social networking have a positive and or negative affect on individuals? A Separate Peace Discussion Essay Example For Students

A Separate Peace Discussion Essay In the novel A Separate Peace the friendship of Finny and Gene is very similar to that of any organization. First it should be made known that most organizations are a way of fitting in with people of similar interests, views, or goals. Most organization, no matter how democratic, will always have some kind of leader over the rest. In instances of many leaders one will always be above the rest. These leaders will have more power, influence, and respect then the others. No matter how erratic their decisions are, their are always people that will follow or risk of being different, ultimately not fitting in. The fear of loneliness or rejection will always clump together the masses. Organizations are a way of showing or pretending to be like others as an effort to fit in or risk being one’s true self for fearing to be rejected by society. In the novel A Separate Peace Finny and Gene’s relationship shows most if not all the signs of a organization. Finny seems as in control as any leader would be in a organization. He even takes the first step of starting it by saying, â€Å"He and Gene are best of friends now. † This statement confirms that he initiated the friendship. As a normal person Gene was sure at first if he would accept Finny’s friendship, but after evaluating he’s benefits as part of the population he accepts the friendship. Gene seemed to have tested Finny’s qualities before offering his friendship to see if Finny was good enough by seeing if he was willing to jump from a tree. This would show Finny if he was willing to trust him and if he would do things that Finny wanted him to. The tree jumping would also prove to be the joining procedure to the Summer Suicide Society they would later create and head. After the offer for friendship by Finny, Finny and Gene got involved in a wrestling match with each other. This like many organizations is like rough housing to show belonging or just affection. Another sign of their group would be the pajamas that Gene decides to wear because Finny does. This was again something Gene hesitates to do, but does as a way of showing belonging. This symbolizes to them and the population similar physical attributes that show their circle. The police are a way of comparing their organization or that of the Gene and Finny’s. First off their is a way of joining the police. Their is much training involved both physical and mental. They are trained to shoot when they have to and do it without hesitation, very much like Finny does things that Gene want’s him to do. Physically they will gain a higher level of conditioning to gain respect and to do their job. The beginners in each organization will be frowned upon until their respect is earned much like how Finny tested Gene with the tree. After the respect is earned more privileged things are gained through the circle. They also wear uniforms as a way to show the world that they are alike similar to Finny and Gene wearing the pajamas. The rookies of the police will in hopes work their way to a prominent rank in order to seem more important then the rest. Gene seemed to be on the receiving end of the relationship until they decide to open their group to the others. When that occurred, Gene seem much more confident in this thought patterns. Organization such as the police and that of Gene and Finny’s aren’t bad, but a way that shows the characters of the person in control. .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .postImageUrl , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:hover , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:visited , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:active { border:0!important; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:active , .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359 .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u311085e428246aa7beed7724cd1c6359:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Bertrande is responsible for her own tragedy EssayMany organizations will do good while others do bad. International Marketing Cultural Factors

Question: Discuss about the International Marketing for Cultural Factors. Answer: Introduction International marketing is the tendency of a business to expand its operations and strategies to other countries apart from its home country. It is a method that businesses used in expanding their operations through further product or service distribution, market expansion, customer increase and product sales increase. Therefore, it is simply the application of marketing techniques and strategies in more than one country, i.e. either overseas countries or cross-border countries. International marketing is however an option that is carried out mostly by large developed organizations (Eisend et al, 2016). It is therefore clear that for international business to take place, the specific country governments must be involved. However, they must work together and come up with new policies and laws that will suit and be acceptable by a majority of the industries to be involved. On the other hand, the businesses should also be ready to change some of their operations or practices and adapt t he new ones (Jin et al, 2016). Therefore, it is very important for any business with a desire of engaging in international marketing to be completely aware of these issues and be sure of ways to use in order to coup with them. For the sake of completing this assignment, am going to use Unilever Company as the business of my reference. It is a multinational business that specializes with the production of consumer goods. Factors Influencing International Marketing Cultural Factors These are in relation to the culture of the business and that of the potential country of establishment. They refer to the general or overall attributes of the consumers in the intended country. They may include: language barrier, tastes, age and population distribution, values and morality among others. Positive aspects of the culture attract more business into the international market and vice versa. Therefore, as for Unilever, it produces different products that can be used by a variety of consumers especially with different cultural beliefs. Political and Legal Factors These are factors that relate to government laws and regulations and the business laws themselves. The rules and policies made by the organizational authorities in the intended country to guide the business operations in general. They may include things like: taxation laws, fees charged for registration, tariffs and quotas implemented, licenses and permit regulations to name a few. These factors are capable of influencing a business that wants to participate in international marketing (Sun et al, 2013). The easier and simpler the rules are, the easier it will be for the business. Being an international business, has always followed the laws related to its products as well as the international rules that govern international trade. This is one of the reasons for its continuous success in most countries. Global Factors These are aspects that are made by world or global organizations that are beyond a businesss control but can cause major effects on its operations when involved in international marketing. Some of these kind of organizations are the UNO, WTO, IMF and the World Bank. They are responsible for determining most of the policies and laws that govern international businesses. Economic Factors They relate to the economic status of the intended country in which the business is to be established. These factors are the most influential of all other factors simply because they directly affect the business operations in one way or another (Key et al, 2017). They include the levels of demand and supply of the product or service, inflation rates, employment and unemployment rates, income distribution, per capita income to name a few. A country with a growing economy will attract more businesses than one whose economy is stagnant or decreasing. Unilever is certainly affected by such factors but has always worked toward coping with them or evading them as much as possible. Other Factors They may include the organizational policies and regulations (events, systems, employees and structure), geographical factors (organizational location) and environmental factors (climatic changes and conditions, weather changes). International Marketing Strategies As mentioned earlier, every business should be ready to effect some change on its strategies to be able to compete in the international market with other business and be successful. Therefore, this means that it has to improve its strategies for the better (Cuneo et al, 2015). For instance, Unilever should concentrate on product or service differentiation strategies, cost leadership strategies, applying the generic strategies. In addition to that, every business should be ready to adjust its prices to the international prices by taking into consideration the international factors of marketing. The marketing strategies of Unilever have helped through its international marketing issues. International Market Distribution Effective and efficient international distribution system is very essential for a business to succeed in the international markets (Czinkota et al, 2013). Considering the fact that the business is trying to establish itself in a new country, then it may not have the most efficient distribution system in place. However, it has to make sure that the system is in line with the governmental laws and regulations as well as other laws that govern business in that country (Papadopoulos et al, 2014). E.g. it can introduce the idea of having intermediaries especially in situations where the producer if far away from the consumer, i.e. wholesalers, retailers, agents among others. However, the business can opt to sell to the consumer directly where the consumer is close and ready to receive from them. This is apparently one of the most important aspects of a successful international business; e.g. Unilever has placed different intermediaries in different parts of the world to help it distribute its goods to its consumers. Advantages of International Marketing (Skarmeas et al, 2016). There is probability of increased economies of scale Increased sales volumes Increased market share and segmentation Increased number of consumers because of the brand globalization Possibility of innovation and invention Exposure to technological advancements and usage Lower marketing costs Lower production and distribution costs especially to those specific countries Increased exposure to technology development and changes Increased chances of forming partnerships and joint ventures Disadvantages Increased competition in the market of the same products Challenges in restructuring the organizations structure, policies and laws Lack of specific labor for the production amounts needed especially in the marketing sector, i.e. qualified and experienced international marketing directors, coordinators, analysis and agents. Challenges in product placement into the market Challenge in achieving a consistent market share and segment Conclusion From this report, I have learnt the importance of international trade to a business and how beneficial it can be. There are more benefits than challenges that are related to international trade. However, any business that desire to participate in international marketing must have the ability and willingness to change its operations and many aspects to be able to fit to the international rules and regulations. Also it must be ready to coup with most if not all the challenges that come in handy. A business must be ready to create a competitive advantage of itself against its competitors for it to be successful in international marketing. International trade being one of the ways of expanding a business, it is one of the most challenging procedures for businesses. This actually the case for Unilever Company. It has been able to focus on international trade, its advantages and come up with solutions for the disadvantages that may arise. References Skarmeas, D., Zeriti, A. and Baltas, G., 2016. Free Essays on Jackson And His Democrats

Jackson and his Democrats The election of Andrew Jackson to the office of president in 1828 signified the changing dynamic of American politics. From the time of it’s institution in 1787, the United States government has proved again and again its ability to mutate to fit the needs of the times. Just as political factions polarized in the late 18th century, new ones began to develop; which although based in some of the same principles as the original parties, were shaped by the events of the day. One of these new political subdivisions to form contained individuals known as Jacksonian Democrats, led clearly by Andrew Jackson, which professed themselves as champions of the common man, the constitution, and equality. As history will go to show, it is opinion that will determine whether these democrats were in reality the altruistic crusaders of liberty they projected themselves as. The Jacksonian democrats, although attackers of the entrenched wealthy class that seemed to have a stranglehold on the body politic and apparent defenders of the proletariat, were also driven by the bias of personal agendas. During this point in the colorful timeline that is American History, the most dramatic change in the nature of the government was the perception of political parties. George Washington’s Farewell Address denounced the formation of what he believed to be evil entities that stagnated the democracy that he had worked hard to help create. All parents should attend government parenting classes Essay

All parents should attend government parenting classes - Essay Example Nevertheless, a lot of queries might be brought up as to whether it is logical for parents to be left to raise their children without any interference given that there has been an increase in vices such as substance abuse, bulling and sometimes fatal fights. For new parents and those who have trouble when it comes to raising their children, parenting classes are a potential solution to helping them. Although some fear that parenting classes increase the socio-economic gap between citizens, government parenting classes will be beneficial in; mitigating the ripple effects of poor parenting on the society, upholding children’s rights to getting quality parenting and standardizing parenting information for reliability and consistency. All parents should go to government sponsored parenting classes because they will help reduce the negative impacts that bad parenting has on the society as a whole. According to Casey and Kirby (2006), in matters regarding the bringing up of its futu re citizens, the government has a firm financial, practical and moral concern. This is the reason why most democracies that are liberalist in nature extend pricey and broad child support systems in order to assist parents in the upbringing of young individuals who will turn out to be respectful, responsible, active and upright members of the society. These support systems include; arrangements for parental leave, nursery care that is free and payments for child support. Casey and Kirby (2006) also raise the contention that preventive and proactive action brings about the best outcomes as opposed waiting to deal with the problems after they arise. The successfulness and cohesiveness of the next generations could be ensured by the implementation of mandatory parenting classes hence raising parenting standards for the benefit of current and future generations. If all parents attended government parenting classes, children’s rights to getting quality parenting will be upheld. Dow ard (2006) argues that making parenting classes mandatory would in a great way aid in the prioritization of the children’s best interests without putting a restriction on the educational choices of these parents. This is because it might not be possible to put into place supervisory or legal systems that would provide encouragement to parents to take better care of their children. While merely having an effect on parents at a minimal degree, parenting classes would certainly aid parents in determining and acquiring knowledge as to what is considered to be good for their children; this would in turn enforce the right of a child to an upbringing that is decent. Bortolotti and Cutas (2009, p.17) give the argument that dealing with bad parenting will in effect cub child social exclusion. For instance, 90% of juvenile wrongdoers have been known to have a history of behavioural issues as children. Moreover, according to LaFollette (1980, p. 24), there are some instances in which a child’s failings are clearly as a result of poor parenting. For example, a fourteen year old boy or girl with poor health, a record of crime and no educational qualifications has almost surely been failed by his/her parents. It is therefore better if these classes are made mandatory for all parents since the government has no means of determining in advance which parents will specifically struggle in raising his/her child. For the betterment of the society at large, a
